The annual and very popular Blue Dragon Book Fair will be held in the Ngaio Town Hall, Wellington on Saturday and Sunday 29 and 30 May. We’ll be calling for book donations in late April so please hold on to them until then, if possible.
Because of COVID-19, last year’s book fair was held in November and raised a record $16,500 – all of which was sent to the Blue Dragon Children’s Centre in Vietnam.
However, trustees are keen on returning to the May date.
The book fair is organised by the Blue Dragon Children’s Trust NZ supported by our wonderful team of volunteers. All the profits support the Blue Dragon Children’s Centre in Vietnam, a not-for-profit working to save and change lives for young disadvantaged or disabled people through education and training. It also rescues young people trafficked into China and sold into forced marriages or baby farms.
It raises more than $12,000 every year – enough to support at least 100 Vietnamese children to go to school for a year, and buy them school uniforms, equipment and school lunches.
